Staten Island artist Chen Xi He has exciting news! With her non-profit organization Pet Pastel, Chen Xi He takes up pet commissions and draws them, often with oil pastel, but water color, sketch, colored pencil, and oil paint requests are all welcome as well. Each custom piece is a labor of love, taking 10+ hours to complete and priced affordably between $50–$100. Specific commission requests could require an additional fee, and all pieces come with a frame. The art gallery takes place in the Clove Lakes Senior Home and is funded currently by the family of Chen Xi He. Complementary pastries and food is included in each gallery. All proceeds go towards animal shelters such as the Animal Care Centers of NYC. Having done one in November of 2024, she is now planning another one on August 30th, 2025. After a heartwarming debut in November 2024, Chen Xi is excited to grow this initiative and hopes to welcome other aspiring artists in future events to amplify the impact.
